Taipei, September 24, 2024 – Taipei International Plastics and Rubber Industry Show (TaipeiPLAS 2024) officially opened at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1, Taiwan, in conjunction with Taipei International Shoe Making Technology Show (ShoeTech Taipei). The event draws nearly 500 exhibitors in over 1,800 booths, marking a remarkable 40% growth compared to the last edition in 2022.
The opening ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including the Vice President of the Legislative Yuan, Chiang Chi Chen, Vice Minister of Economic Affairs, Ching-Chang Lien, along with industry leaders such as TAITRA Chairman James C.F. Huang, and Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI) Chairman David Chuang.
TAITRA Chairman James Huang described the show’s power to gather industrial dynamics and plastics innovations as chemistry, sparking even brighter possibilities. Huang emphasized the industry show’s main themes: "Innovative Materials," "Advanced Manufacturing," and "Circular Economy," which align with global trends toward sustainability and net-zero.
Beyond that, TaipeiPLAS 2024 also launches three new zones: "Composite Materials," "Bio, Recycled Plastics & Green Products," and " Adhesives & Glues." These zones added fresh dynamics to the show and enrich the exhibit profile. The exhibition presents the full ecosystem and emerging value chains of the industry, from raw materials to manufacturing and finished products.
David Chuang, TAMI Chairman, pointed out Taiwan’s key role in plastics and rubber machinery, with USD807 million in 2023, making it the sixth-largest exporter globally, while Taiwan's shoe-making machinery exports, ranking third worldwide. Chuang believes that the event is a perfect venue to experience the "green" nature of Taiwan's plastics and rubber industry: smart production and sustainability.
Exhibitors like CHEN HSONG, Chuan Chyi, CHUMPOWER, CLF, Conair, CYKF, Diing Kuen, Ding-shen, FCS, FKI, Formosa Chemicals & Fibre, Formosa Plastics, HIWIN, HUARONG, igus, JSW, LUNG MENG, Maguire, MORETTO, MULTIPLAS, POLYSTAR, Siemens, TENSO, TienKang, Victor Taichung, WITTMANN, YE I, and many others, showcased their latest models for diverse applications in aerospace, smart mobility, health care, and green energy.
At TaipeiPLAS 2024, the "SDGs in Plastic Innovation" pavilion showcases an in-depth understanding of the industry's transition. Another spotlight, “Visionary and Sustainable Development Summit for the Plastic and Rubber Industry,” held on the second show day, where experts from BASF, ARBURG, WITTMANN, and others discussed industry advancements.
The activities continue with seminars, INNOVATION HUB, guided tours, procurement meetings and TaipeiPLAS Award. More updates can be found at the official website www.taipeiplas.com.tw.
